So anyways, I've been looking into buying a digital camera. I'm basically just looking for one to take and upload pictures with, So I was looking for a little feedback. You know, which brand is better? Is more expensive always better? Just the basic questions. Thanx in advance.

I have a Canon Powershot S1 IS. It was recommended to me by someone here on JU. It's a great camera. It's 3.2 megapixel, with 10X optical manual zoom (which another blogger told me was important). It has all kinds of features including the ability to make large photos by taking several small ones, action and dark settings. It even does really great video. It has a nice LCD screen that can be twisted around 180 degrees. It has more features on it than I even know how to use.

I can take video from my digital camera and put it on my computer and send it to family via email. It also came with the hookups to put video onto a regular VCR tape.

It takes terrific photos. I've been really pleased with it. It cost me around $400, and it has been totally worth it. I even bought a Canon printer so that I can print my photos out at home.

Im just got my husband a Pentax Optio 50. 5.0 megapixels, 3X optical zoom, pictbridge enabled, black and white/sepia tint options.....it's a kick ass camera and it was pretty cheap (I got his for under $200). It also has a video option and all kinds of other whistles and bells on it. It really is a great camera for the price.

Decide on the resolution, size/weight of the camera, price range and what are you going to use it for,
then go to the www.dpreview.com and compare features of the cameras with these
features.

Price will vary, depending what are you looking for
3mp Point and shoot
or 8mp Digital SLR
