It's still up in the air, but Sosa is on his way out the door in Chicago to the Baltimore Orioles. Well, what the hell happened here? Sosa was the most beloved Chicagoian (if it's a word) since Michael Jordan. He (along with Mark McGwire) basicly resurrected baseball with the great home run race in '98.

Sosa has had his image tarnished since then with accusations of steroid use, the cork bat fiasco, then bailing on the last game of the season, and critizicing baseballs most repected managers Dusty Baker. Plus, with all the injuries and the drop in the batting order really didn't help out any.

I still like Sammy and I hope he does well in Baltimore (which opted for Sosa since Carlos Delgado signed with the Mariners. Another favorite player of mine whom I hope does well) and I hope he makes it to the all-star game, but I don't see baltimore making any noise in the AL just yet. There are alot of young players on the team, Tejada is the best player on the team but Palmeiro
and Surhoff are in the twilight of there respected careers. Plus with the Yankees and Red Sox dominating that divison, I don't see baltimore getting anywhere anytime soon.

But I think Sammy is a good addition and I hope he gets it turned around in '05. He needs a good season since things went sour in Chicago between him and the fans.

No, he was the most beloved Chicagoan to Cub fans. We White Sox fans really couldn't stand the guy.
