Lifes not that bad, but I'm gonna bitch about it anyways....
I was a huge Jason GIambi fan when he wa with the Atheletics' a few years back. The year 2000 was his breakout year, almost carring the team to the playoffs. Until the team was eliminated by the Yankees. The next year, (if you can't beat 'um, join 'um) he became a Yankee and signed one of the largest contracts in MLB history. Then everything went down hill. He slumped most of the last couple of seasons with injuries and a tumor this past season. Then the talk of steriod use that could cost him his job with the Yankees. So here we go again, another former MVP, another player that carried their respected team into the post season, and another player that screwed up their carreer because of steriods.

Ken Caminiti and Jason Giambi, two players that were very good when they were on, but both resorted to steriod use. Why? I don't know. Why would anyone use steriods. Why would someone risk their life and carreer just for that little something extra to have over thier opponent? Is competition really worth all the risk? I ask these questions not out of curiosity (i was a high school athlete back in the day, so I kinda' understand) just out of disappointment. I'm not a fan of Barry Bonds, so I don't really care one way or the other if he used steroids, but I like Garry Sheffield, Marion Jones, and (for a while, until he joined the evil empire) Jason Giambi. Hell, there was even talk of Lance Armstrong using performance inhancing drugs.

I never taken performance inhancers, and I hope i never will, but when will it stop. When will the desire to be the greatest not come with the consequence of losing you r common sense? Probably never. Cause the fact of the matter is, if the desire to be the fastest, the strongest, and the greatest athlete is out there, then perfomance inhancing drugs will be out there as well. I hope baseball and commissioner Selig come to some sort of arangement that will test players for these drugs, because news like this would kill the most hard core baseball fan. Not just baseball, but any sport. It would kill me if I found out that Joe Montana or Dan Marino took some.

I think that's why some people are losing interest in most sports, cause; if they're not kicking the crap outta each other on the field or court, getting arrested for drugs and murder, or using steriods, then who's there to root for? Who's will be the next generations sport legend, 25, 50, to 100 years down the line?

Most athletes use steroids. It's relatively easy to beat the tests - until a few years ago most steroid tests could be beaten by drinking about a half gallon of water before giving your urine sample. Obviouly it's gotten more sophisticated since then but the guys dreaming up how to beat the tests will usually beat the guys setting the tests. One party has to adhere to protocols and one doesn't. Why do the top guys get caught? Because they're the top guys. They attract the attention. That guy who came out of nowhere and suddenly was on the covers of all the sports magazines - what did you think that was? Genetics?

I did about three cycles of various steroids about 15 years ago when I was serious about my bodybuilding. My favourite was Halotestin because it made me feel like god. They banned that one shortly after my first cycle but I don't think it was related. Do steroids work? Hell yeah. Do they make you vicious angry and give you testicles like peas? Hell yeah...
