Lifes not that bad, but I'm gonna bitch about it anyways....
What a way to kick of the season..

Auburn's National title dreams took a blow when they lost to Georgia Tech, 23-14. I really didn't get to watch the game mainly because I figured that they were gong to lose anyway, so I just decided to catch up watching Sportcenter this morning. Sure enough, I was right.

Auburn really didn't look like the team from last year. Of course they lost Jason Cambell, Ronnie Brown, and Carnell Williams to the NFL, but Tuberville said that his team was ready to go. Yeah, they were ready alright. Ready to have a mediocre season at best. With the SEC always being as tough as it is, I don't see Auburn making back to the SEC Championship game. I think they have a good shot at making it to a bowl, but not a BCS bowl is likely. Auburn QB Brandon Cox had a good game, Going 22-44 for 342 yards. But the turnovers were costly. 4 for Auburn while GT gave up 2 and it's been well documented that you can't win if you can't hold on to the ball.

Another team that looked very impressive was Notre Dame. I'm not a huge Notre Dame fan, but I'm giving Weis some hug props for having his team ready to play, and crushing #21 Ranked Pit. 42-23. Brady Quinn, with the execption of one interception, had a awesome day and with 28 points scored in the second quarter and 35 in the first half, this game was over by halftime. So hopefully, Weis can return the Fighting Irish back to the days of old and that USC-Notre Dame rivalry is looking pretty good right about now.

With all this, it's still just the first week of the season. In College ball, it's usually make or break in that first game which is really unfair. I mean, even though Auburn didn't live up to the hype, who's to say that they still might make some noise in the SEC. Eventhough Notre Dame destroyed Pit, who's to say that this was a fluke. Who knows, but it's why I love College Football.
